A group of young guys who is passionate about sea, sand, sun and everything about surfing (even though they don’t really surf! ) came to Kata and fell in love with its beach-waves-lifestyles so they decided to build a “surfer’s low-cost hub” in the heart of Kata Beach
Fin Hostel wants to create a comfortable atmosphere for all kind of people whether they come to surf or just backpacking around. We choose a modern surfer deco style because we fell in love with the art of surfing and a friendly welcoming feeling of surfer communities around the world.
Kata is our all-time favorite due to its spectacular palm-lined beach, great restaurants, lively but not raucous nightlife and varied accommodation options – all close to the beach. And Kata beach is considered as the ‘Surfing Mecca’ for its waves which are for all kind of riders, beginners and advanced.Best period of surfing is during the off-peak tourist season (April - September) which means you pay less during your stay in Kata.
In Kata Beach where waves are available for all types of surfers, from beginners to experts, with two surf shops and seven beach outlets where you can rent a board. Surfboards cost 150 Baht per hour, 500 Baht a day at starting prices and that some outlets charge more.
The surfing period in Kata is from May to November which is the low-season period for tourist, or we can surf all around the year at Surf House Phuket a place where you can surf and learn how to surf in a super-safe environment throughout the year with the “Flow Rider Simulator Machine”.
